Mars at night: How to see the Red Planet at night all month long – Astronomy tips


Stellarium will project a map of the night sky for your specific location and you can also adjust the time and date.

You can then look up Mars or any other astronomical object of interest in the search bar at the top.

Toggles at the bottom will show you the constellations, and the equatorial and azimuthal grids.

EarthSky’s astronomers said: “There will be a period of months this year when Mars sits near the sunset, faint and inconspicuous, before disappearing in earnest into the sun’s glare.

“So enjoy Mars in February 2021! It’s only going to get fainter as this year progresses”
